The Benefits of Skin Protectants for Long-term Wound Care

Skin protectants used in long-term wound care prevent maceration caused by dressings and gels that speed wound healing.

Many wound dressings are designed to provide a moist environment inside the wound bed because this promotes faster and more complete wound healing.
